If you’re a real Pakistani at heart, you would probably agree that you would probably choose your bridal dress LONG before you chose a wedding planner, pick the venue or even decided which khala to invite or which phupho to reconcile with (or maybe not).

With so many designers dominating the fashion scene, one may feel completely lost when it comes to picking the perfect bridal dress during event planning. However, we have three short and sweet rules you can use when choosing between the outfit for your big day:

  1. Do not be afraid to be non-traditional

Red has, and will always be, the traditional color for the bride. But if this color does not float your boat, ditch it! Do your own thing and choose a hue that speaks to you. Pastels are a great choice for Walima whereas darker tones work really well for the reception. But that being said, many brides are now challenging the set traditions by opting for colors other than yellow for mehndi and playing with different silhouettes for the wedding dress.

  1. Will you wear it more than 3 times?

The sad life story for most bridal dresses is the journey from the atelier to the wedding event, and then in a cupboard (buried with blissful oblivion). Our take? We feel that the wedding dress should not be relevant to your wedding but should be versatile enough to be worn at any wedding events of your closed ones. Welcome to 2021: aesthetics meet feasibility.

  1. Shop true to your size

Even if you plan on losing weight before the big day, shop for dresses in your current size rather than going smaller. It’s much easier to take a dress in than trying to work with one that’s way too small. We know you spent 3 months in gym to hit that sweet spot on the weight machine, but it would not be a good idea to pick sizes you know you would not fit into later.

Thankfully, many event management companies and event planners in Lahore have begun giving consultation services, not just for event planning, but for every aspect of the wedding. So, perhaps the most important decision that comes after choosing your significant other, is choosing the right event organizer.
